Dear Parents, We hope that this finds you all well. There are a few changes this week. "Table Toppers" is a new Maths book, as we have completed "Master your Maths". The children do not have a copy of this book so we have included the pages required on the padlet link at the bottom of this page. We would encourage the children to learn the tables if possible as well as completing the exercises. Reading: The school has acquired "Collins Big Cat Book Series" which are books that are very suitable for our class group. The instructions on how to access these books can be found on the padlet link under the heading : "Extra reading" Thank you for sending in your work this week and again we would love if they sent us (preferably in a single email) pictures of: 1 - any page of Maths completed 2 - 5 sentences they wrote from spellings 3 - 1 piece of their choosing - something they are proud of or their favourite piece of work Our email addresses are: ldunne@ballinaprimaryschool.com mcoconnell@ballinaprimaryschool.com pkinsella@ballinaprimaryschool.com Again we need to stress that we are hugely conscious of everyone’s differing home situations so whatever you do or don’t do is perfect!! Attached please find the links to the schedule of work for the week and to a padlet containing the resources you may need by subject. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need any help. It’s great to get your feedback. Regards to all and a big hello to all the children, Múinteoir Laura Múinteoir MaryClare Múinteoir Patricia Padlet link: https://padlet.com/ldunne4/homeschool11th15thmay https://padlet.com/mcoconnell1/1stClass11th_15thMay Schedule of work 11th - 15th May (1).docx (31.3 KB) Dear Parents,
It was lovely speaking with most of you last week and we would like to congratulate you on the wonderful job you are doing in these very difficult times. Your children are happy, healthy and learning lots from the people they love most in the world. As discussed, future plans will be given on a weekly basis and will hopefully serve the needs of your child. The work laid out is only a guide, we all have good days and bad days so feel free to amend as you see necessary. Remember there are an abundance of opportunities for teaching and learning in our ordinary everyday lives. You are and always were your child’s first and most important educators and incidental learning stays with us forever. We would encourage children to look at Readtheory.org https://readtheory.org/app/sign-up/role as it has good comprehension pieces and will be appealing to many. Hit the button https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button is a good maths site and may be handy on a rainy day. We would love to hear from you and we would encourage children to upload 3 pieces of work each week. A picture, a story, a completed task in workbooks are just a few to choose from. All work can be uploaded and sent to us via e-mail. If anyone would like to write a little poem or story about their time at home during covid-19 we would love to read them. We may even be able to get them published in the Guardian Newspaper. Finally, should you have any questions, suggestions or are in need of any support or clarification, please feel free to contact us via e-mail. Stay Safe everyone. Kind Regards, Múinteoir Yvonne. geaj33@gmail.com Muinteoir Michelle. michelleballyroan@hotmail.com schedule_of_work_may_5th-8th.docx |
