Teddy Bears' Picnic in Senior Infants

Seniors decided to hold a teddy bears' picnic to celebrate the end of the year. We had our lunch outside, played lots of games that we had learned in PE and read some 'Teddy Bear' stories. It was great!

Butterfly release day

We were so excited to see our butterflies hatch out of their cocoons, but they could not stay in the butterfly habitat forever so we allowed them to fly away and enjoy fluttering around the trees and flowers. We celebrated by having a picnic outside and even a lovely treat of icecream, marshmallows and chocolate.

Butterfly obsessed in juniors!

A few weeks ago we ordered caterpillars from a website called www.insectlore.com and over 4 weeks we in Juniors have been watching an amazing transformation - caterpillars growing into butterflies! We learned about the lifecycle, did art activities, writing and lots more, we are butterfly experts now!

Planting Flowers IN Ballina PS

Senior Infants, along with their buddies in Rang 6, were busy planting flowers around the school to brighten up our new window boxes. We used lots of skills that we learned in our SESE Aistear stations about how to plant and look after bulbs and flowers. We love checking to see how the flowers are doing when we are going home each day.

We are only a couple of weeks into May and already Senior Infants have been very busy. Both classes worked together to create our May Sacred Space, which is bright and colourful for Mary.
