It's been a busy few weeks in Rang A Trí. In Art, we discovered a technique called foreshortening and used it to make our "Falling Through Space" artwork. We also created a city skyline and added some colourful fireworks and we made some pop-up Valentine's Day cards. We learned all about St. Brigid and got creative making colourful crosses from paper. In English, we focussed on explanation writing and researched and wrote about the life of an astronaut. We also created some fun Valentine's Day poetry. In PE we practised our fundamental movement skills and really enjoyed our Zumba classes with Pat. In Maths, we've been working on fractions and built our very own fraction walls and in SESE we have been experimenting with mirrors and learning how they work. And in Music, Paula O'Regan has been teaching us how to play "Rattlin' Bog" and "Maggie in the Woods" on the tin whistle.
Third class got into the Christmas spirit this week when they went to see the pantomime production of Sleeping Beauty at the University Concert Hall in Limerick. Happy Christmas everyone!
We have been learning all about the Vikings in Rang a Trí over the past few weeks. We worked in teams to research, write and present our reports to the class. We also had great fun uncovering the secret runic writing of the Vikings and we created these fantastic Viking shields.
We've been getting into the Halloween spirit in Rang a Trí this week. We created haunted castles in art, learned how to carve a pumpkin and completed a spooky science experiment. Happy Halloween everyone!

And Paula O'Regan has been teaching us how to play "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on the tin whistle.
