Comortas Gaeilge Winners An Banna Ceoil Píosa ceoil ó gach rang Comortas Sacar 5 a sidecomortas ficheallileOn February 6th we marked Safer Internet Day throughout our school. We are taught how to be respectful by our teachers and parents and how to be safe at play, on the roads, in the water and in the community but we spend lots of time on devices both in school and at home so it is very important that we learn about respect and safety online also. 4th and 5th Class had a visit from Sergeant Deirdre O' Doherty and Garda Rob O' Grady. They showed them an animated video and discussed the online safety issue of bullying and cyberbullying. They gave the children good advice on what they can do if they encounter any nastiness online. Senior Infants found out all about the importance of passwords and keeping your personal information safe and private.
Junior Infants used the Webwise resources and did some amazing colouring to mark the day! What a wonderful response to the Food Appeal this year. A huge thanks to all who donated. All the donations are going to the Ballina /Killaloe Better Christmas Fund. Thanks also to the members of our Students Council and some extra helpers who sorted and bagged the donations ready for collection. Eddie O'Gorman will collect them for distribution in our own locality to those that may need a little help over Christmas. Charity begins at home!!
Well done to all the children that put such work, effort and creativity into making recycled Christmas Decorations this year. Here's a sample of some of the beautiful pieces they created............Some tough competition.......Glad I'm not judging them!!!!!
Huge credit and thanks must be given to our wonderful parents who helped the children prepare so wonderfully and creatively for celebrating Halloween in school with us today. These are the memories and days that your children remember in years to come, so in case we don't say it enough..... YOU'RE SIMPLY THE BEST and THANK YOU !!! The Disco.........

It's a pleasure to walk through the school taking time to look at the beautiful work on display outside the classrooms. Well done to all the children for the wonderful effort they have put in so far this term. Hopefully we will see some very creative Halloween costumes tomorrow at our school disco too! |
