Attendance & Punctuality
Pupils are required to be regular in their attendance. Parents are reminded that under the Welfare Act 2000 the school authorities are obliged to report absence in excess of twenty days. It is essential to be punctual for class at all times. The bell rings five minutes before all breaks to allow classes to line up quietly and orderly. Pupils must walk quietly in and out of the classroom.

School Philosophy
At Ballina Primary School, we strive to create a safe secure and happy learning environment that reflects our Christian ethos mindful at all times of the dignity and individuality of every pupil in our care. In so doing, we seek to enable each pupil to reach his/her full potential.
We aim to:
We aim to:
- develop a friendly and harmonious relationship within the school so each pupil can learn and grow;
- promote a pastoral care system within which each person takes responsibility for his/her own behaviour.
- Build a spirit of collaboration between management, teachers, non-teaching staff, parents and pupils and a sense of belonging as part of vibrant learning community.
- foster in the pupils a sense of pride in themselves, their work, their school.
- develop in students an awareness and appreciation of our culture and heritage and of our civic responsibility in the preservation of the environment.
Respect is the all important word in our school
“Respect yourself and everyone else
And you will have a responsible class
And together we will have
A responsible school.”

School Ethos
Ballina Primary School is a Roman Catholic School in the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. It aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the person: intellectual, physical, cultural, moral and spiritual, including a living relationship with God and with other people. The school models and promotes a philosophy of life inspired by belief in God and in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
