This year the primary schools crosscountry was again held in Thurles. It is a huge event every year with around 3,500 pupils taking part during the day. It always runs like clockwork and our pupils always give it their best shot. Our 3rd / 4th class girls won their race and all will be receiving medals. Well done to all that took part, it's a great day made all the better by your very best efforts. 

Congratulations to all those who cycled to school this week. The children from all classes made a huge effort to get on their bikes, especially on our COW DAY (Cycle On Wednesday).
At the start of the week we had 30 children cycling to school. By Wednesday the Green Schools Committee counted 94 children cycling to school out of a total of 382 children. This a fantastic achievement so well done to everybody. 

Green Schools News: A big thank you to everybody who took part in the Big Travel Challenge this year. There was a big increase in the numbers walking to school every day, so well done everybody. Our WOW day was a great success with a huge turn out at all three meeting points. Thanks to your support. 
We would encourage parents and children to continue the work of the Big Travel Challenge and to walk to school where possible. Also if they would like to join with other children at the three meeting points in the village and walk from there together, it might relieve some of the congestion at the school gates. 

Applications are now being accepted for Junior Infant classes starting in September 2023.

Well done to the school camogie team who won the Cumman na mBunscol roinn A county final last Tuesday. Super achievement and well done to all involved. 

Well done to Kate Stritch on winning a Special Merit Award in the Texaco Art Competition. 

Great progress is being made on our new ASD classrooms. We are looking forward to the end result.
