National Tree Week

Last week we celebrate National Tree Week.
All the classes in Ballina National School focused on learning about our native Irish Trees and how they are so important for our environment. Rang a 4 focused on photosynthesis and how trees produce the OXYGEN that we need for everyday life and how they absorb  Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere.
We also learned how to measure the height and age of a tree.
Juniors up to Rang a 1 learned all about the Might Oak Tree and we had a Tree colouring competition for the junior classes.
