January News from Senior Infants

Our theme of the month was water and this was the starting point for our Aistear stations, as well as our lessons. We learned the story of Noah's Ark, and explored some underwater creature facts, as well as trying out lots of water-based activities.

Aistear

Science

During Aistear, we tested different materials to see if they would float or sink. We did some work on waterproof materials in our science lessons and then tested some materials from around the house to see which would be the best for keeping out water.

Measuring

We have been learning about measuring in maths. We have used lots of different measuring tools to see how long different classroom items are.
